'The Runaways' Director Would Love To Make 'Surreal' Lady Gaga Video

'She'd be fun. She's quite theatrical,' says prolific music-video director Floria Sigismondi.

"The Runaways" is Floria Sigismondi's feature-film directorial debut, but she has been directing music videos since 1993's "A Certain Slant of Light" by the Tea Party. In the nearly two decades since, she's helmed a number of influential and high-profile videos for everyone from Marilyn Manson ("Beautiful People") to the White Stripes ("Blue Orchid") to Christina Aguilera ("Fighter), just to name a few. Most recently, the prolific director shot the video for "Let It Rain" for the Living Things, the band fronted by her husband, Lillian Berlin. While she's currently trying to figure out what her next film project might be, Sigismondi said that she wouldn't mind shooting a music video for Lady Gaga. The pop star's nearly 10-minute clip for "Telephone," which references everything from prison films to Madonna to Andy Warhol, finally has people talking about videos again. "She'd be fun. She's quite theatrical," Sigismondi told MTV News on the red carpet of the New York premiere for "The Runaways." "I don't know, but I kind of grew up with costumes all my life, so I would go in there and do something kind of surreal maybe." And while she would love to concoct a treatment for Gaga, Sigismondi is also looking to follow up her rock biopic with something different. "I think I'll probably go into some fiction," she explained. "A little, kind of, made-up worlds and a little more fantastical." MtvNews, com
