Having just swept three major awards at Tuesday’s BRIT Awards, Lady Gaga remains front page music news with the rumor that she, along with a reunited Soundgarden and Green Day will be announced as headliners for the 2010 Lollapalooza music festival on Aug. 6-8 in Chicago. Arcade Fire and the Strokes are also rumored to be included in the annual festival’s lineup. Word of the rumored trio initially showed up on The Daily Swarm, citing “multiple industry sources” confirming that Gaga, Green Day and Soundgarden will headline Lollapalooza 2010. Nothing is official, but the leak is already generating big buzz across the music landscape; usually an official announcement from Lollapalooza doesn’t come until April, but looks like they might have to tweak that schedule if the rumors intensify and turn out to be true. Were Gaga to perform it would be marked as quite a mega-hyped return of the queen; she performed on a side stage in 2007 – in a bikini – when she was relatively unknown. Check the short clip below! Gaga is already booked to begin a tour in the U.K. on Feb. 18th at the MEN Arena in Manchester – then she heads to Australia, New Zealand and Japan. We shall if the rumors are true of her touching down in the Windy City for Lollapalooza 2010. Soundgarden had already made it known they will reunite for gigs in 2010 via a New Year’s Eve Twitter message from Chris Cornell. The 2010 Lollapalooza lineup is already set to include numerous up-and-coming bands, including Yeasayer, the xx, and Dirty Projectors. Also expect to see Cut Copy and Hot Chip as well. Last year’s Lollapalooza headline acts included Kings of Leon, Jane’s Addiction and The Killers. beatcrave.com
