Prince Harry to join Lady Gaga and Jay-Z in the 30th Anniversary BRIT Awards next Tuesday

Prince Harry will become the first Royal to participate in the British Record Industry Trust (BRIT) Awards with a video as part of the ceremony to be held next Tuesday, Feb. 16th. UK's The Sun reports that this will be the first time the program has featured a Royal salute in the 30 year history of the show. Prince Harry said "The BRITS is a celebration of all that is totally outstanding and unique about British music. But what's less well known about the BRITS is the fantastic work it does raising millions of pounds for The BRIT Trust." The Royal's office at Clarence House confirms that Prince Harry will make his BRIT Award debut in a video message wishing the event a happy 30th anniversary. It would not; however confirm an appearance at the awards show. CBS News reports Prince Harry will attend the award ceremony with girlfriend Chelsy Davy as part of a PR campaign to involve the Royals in popular culture. The show will include performances by Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Robbie Williams, Cheryl Cole, Lilly Allen, Florence and the Machine, Kasabian, JLS, and Dizzee Rascal. The British Prince is rumored to be a big fan of Dizzee Rascal. The Brit Awards 2010 will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Earls Court Arena in London at 8PM on ITV1. Did you know? Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper Tapped by MAC AIDS Fund

Gathering two of music’s most eccentric (and eccentrically dressed) personalities in one room at a restaurant known as a cross-dresser paradise is a recipe for spontaneous personality combustion — especially when the two in question are Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper at Lucky Cheng’s in Manhattan. It’s a sartorial match made in heaven (or, for some, that other place) — Lauper, who rose to fame in the Eighties as much for her outrageous getups and rainbow-hued hair as for her number-one records, and Gaga, who wears everything from a hair bow made of her own hair to Giorgio Armani Privé. It’s also a meeting to talk about sex: specifically, the ad campaign for the MAC AIDS Fund, where the two have teamed up. Both women are expected to make personal appearances on behalf of the initiative. “People think if you’re strong about your sexuality, you must have a d--k,” says Gaga unapologetically. “And that’s what this is about. You can be strong about your sexuality and be a smart woman who wears lipstick and high heels and looks pretty.” On this day, she’s clad in a sparkly Marc Jacobs bustier, nude fishnets and a pair of six-inch platform heels — and announces proudly that she had an AIDS test two days before. Lauper, music’s original girl who just wants to have fun, is clad almost conservatively in a black jacket, black skinny pants and black ankle boots, and is positively maternal toward her young charge, making sure she has a cup of tea and calling her Booboo. The outrageous Gaga, 23, obviously finds the daughter role comfortable. Mother and daughter they may not be, but Lauper definitely paved the way for Gaga’s getups — and Gaga obviously appreciates it. “Everyone was saying I looked like a crazy trannie, and I was like, ‘Thank you,’” says Gaga. “Then when I met her for the first time, Cyndi saw me in the hallway and said, ‘You look great, kid. Take no prisoners.’ She understood me.” “We lucked out,” says Lauper. “When we met each other, we liked each other and are interested in the same type of things. We laugh about similar things.” And both obviously worship offbeat footwear. “I used to waitress in these shoes,” Gaga says, gesturing to her footwear, which has what looks like stacks of gum balls for heels. Lauper exclaims, “Get out!”

Lady Gaga to enter recording studios with Britney Spears for duet

LADY Gaga has agreed to work with her idol Britney Spears. Gaga, the hit of last year, will hook up with her idol after her tour ends, thasnks to her dad. GaGa took her father, Joseph, along as a guest when she attended the Grammy Awards recently. When Joseph saw Spears at one of the bash’s aftershow parties, he apparently told the legendary one-time pop princess his superstar daughter is a huge fan and would love to record a duet with her. "GaGa has made no secret of just how much of a Britney fan she is,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. "She has even admitted she used to have posters of her on her wall and she was a great source of inspiration when she was a struggling songwriter. "She was delighted when she found her dad chatting away to Britney at the party. "He introduced them and the three of them were locked in conversation for ages. "At the end of the chat, they exchanged numbers and agreed to go into the studio and work on music together as soon as GaGa finishes her Fame Monster tour.” The Daily Telegraph

But she's got her dad JOSEPH to thank for her latest collaboration - with pop princess BRITNEY SPEARS. GaGa took her old man along as a guest when she attended the Grammys recently. And when the singer nipped to the loo at one of the bash's aftershow parties, Joseph wasted no time bowling up to Britney to tell her his daughter is her biggest fan. Normally, this would be an embarrassing dad crime of the highest order, but not in GaGa land. She turned it into an opportunity for the pair to hook up in the studio.
